Let's take this step together

It all starts with a few simple steps...
Our first step is to take RESPONSIBILITY for our actions. We had choices, and we made the wrong ones. Some of these choices landed us in jail, prison, house arrest, or all of the above. It's so easy for us to reject responsibility and instead get caught up in the "if only's". "If only" is a useless and futile exercise. Things happened as they happened, and you are where you are. The second step is to KNOW that our poor decisions do not have to define our lives. Each day gives us an opportunity to begin ANEW. Let's discuss which steps we can take, and what choices we can make to give ourselves a more hopeful and positive outcome.

My Story
Hello, My name is Kinny Peterkin. I'm a convicted felon. Although that label does significantly impact my life, it does not define me entirely. Along with being a felon, I'm also a father, a husband, a real estate agent, a licensed general contractor, and much more.
I know first hand how difficult life can be when dragging around a felony record. Things like good jobs, loans, and healthy relationships seem almost impossible to obtain. It's true that all of these things were (and sometimes still are) difficult. I was able to move forward from my criminal history by accepting my mistakes and embracing the challenge of progression. My story is not a "success story", I'm still very much a work in progress. Each day presents new challenges, but thats just part of life. As felons, we can not afford to be dragged down by how others see us. I made a decision long ago to make a change, and in time others were able to see this change. I don't claim to have all the answers, but my hope is that through our discussion we all can receive some much needed incite and encouragement. I hope to talk to you soon!
